Resilient Forests

The cli­mate cri­sis is dev­as­tat­ing forests, with 10 mil­lion hectares lost annu­al­ly due to defor­esta­tion and cli­mate-induced dis­as­ters. Forests are cru­cial in tack­ling cli­mate change, absorb­ing around 2.6 bil­lion tons of CO2 each year. Bio­di­ver­si­ty with­in these ecosys­tems is vital for their sta­bil­i­ty, ensur­ing resilience against envi­ron­men­tal changes and main­tain­ing essen­tial ser­vices like car­bon seques­tra­tion and water reg­u­la­tion. Pro­tect­ing and restor­ing diverse forests is crit­i­cal for mit­i­gat­ing cli­mate impacts and sup­port­ing human well-being.

In our col­lec­tive, we bring togeth­er forestry star­tups, research insti­tutes, busi­ness­es, and state actors to fos­ter inno­va­tion and col­lab­o­ra­tion. Our col­lec­tive on resilient forests includes 8 sub-themes.

Our goal is to effec­tive­ly restore forests and pro­tect bio­di­ver­si­ty. Our col­lec­tive aims to:

In May and Octo­ber of each year, our com­mu­ni­ty meets at the Col­lec­tive Impact Sum­mit in Berlin.
It includes a col­lec­tive meet­up, start­up pitch­es, expert keynotes, and a net­work­ing evening.
